A senior delegation from China Export Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure) visited Sellers Union on Oct. 16 to discuss the company's operations, risk management practices, and strategies for expanding into global markets amid rising geopolitical uncertainties and a shifting international trade landscape.

Xu Xinwei, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of Sinosure, led the delegation, which included Xia Yang and Wang Huiping, Directors of Sinosure Headquarters; Wang Hong, General Manager of the Market Development and Client Services Department; and Yang Ying, Senior Expert of the Trade Insurance Underwriting Department. Zhang Juan, General Manager of Sinosure Ningbo Branch, accompanied the visit. Sellers Union Chairman Xu Pingju, Party Secretary Weng Qidong, Vice Presidents Zhu Ling and Shao Jiyin, and Administration Department General Manager Fang Fang hosted the delegation.

Chairman Xu Pingju outlined Sellers Union’s three core segments, including general trade, cross-border e-commerce, and the foreign trade ecosystem, supported by its global client base and supply chain capabilities. While traditional B2B trade grows steadily, cross-border e-commerce is expanding rapidly. Amid headwinds in Western markets, the company is diversifying into Asia, Latin America, and Africa to strengthen resilience.

Zhu Ling highlighted growing demand for overseas buyer credit limits as the company expands in emerging markets across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, expressing hope for enhanced underwriting support with more favorable terms. She also noted that e-commerce risks have extended to warehousing, logistics, and geopolitical dimensions, with emerging models like consolidated purchasing and drop-shipping requiring updated risk assessment approaches. Separately, Sellers Union shared its use of Sinosure’s Globeseek platform to screen clients, identifying multiple high-risk buyers this year, and expressed hope for richer risk data, including detailed incident and claims records, to support frontline decisions.

Zhang Juan noted the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations, adding that the Ningbo Branch will strengthen coordination with headquarters and tailor services to Sellers Union’s evolving models, including cross-border e-commerce, to improve responsiveness and precision.

Xu Xinwei emphasized that Sinosure’s two-decade partnership with Sellers Union has evolved beyond insurance to become a comprehensive risk management partner, supporting buyer credit investigations, credit limit management, and risk alerts to enable confident trading. Acknowledging the company’s competitiveness in traditional trade, emerging markets, and daily consumer goods, he cautioned that risk awareness must be embedded at the frontline as new models emerge, and committed to studying evolving needs to deliver personalized, systematic services.

Chairman Xu Pingju said the visit deepened cooperation on innovative business and risk management, noting that evolving market structures and transaction models demand higher risk capabilities. He pledged to further strengthen collaboration with Sinosure to drive high-quality, stable development of its foreign trade business.
